Floating Ring Fenders

Floating Ring fenders - Construction

Floating ring fenders are constructed in two main ways;

Polyurethane skin type - This type of floating ring fender is constructed by means of internal steel and is fitted with low friction bearing pads to allow the fender to move freely on the pile. On the external face the closed cell polyethylene foam is bonded to the steel and covered by a polyurethane skin very similar to that of a foam fender.

Steel Chamber type -This type of floating ring fender is constructed by means of a steel fabricated chamber filled with closed cell polyethelene foam. The internal faces of the chambers are fitted with low friction bearing pads to allow the fender to move freely about the pile. The external faces are fitted with rubber fenders to give the required fendering solution.
