Foam Fenders - Construction

The Floating Fender Company foam fenders are constructed from energy absorbing polyethylene foam encapsulated within a resilient polyurethane elastomer skin. See diagram

The polyethylene foam is bonded together by a continuous thermo-laminating process, eliminating the use of adhesives which can break down under long and arduous use.

The polyurethene elastomer skin is suitably reinforced to resist abrasion, ultra violet degredation and temperature fluctuations. If the skin of the fender is damaged, the effect on performance is negligable as the closed cell polyethylene foam will not absorb water and the fender will not sink.
